Featuring Gemini Major and Yanga Chief.
AKA is out here being cheerful and it’s not even Christmas or his birthday. The South African artists returns with not one or two new songs but three for the Megacy to vibe to.
The three singles “Cross My Heart,” Energy” and “Monuments” contain different dynamics but maintain AKA’s now staple sing-song formula. “Cross My Heart,“ which features additional vocals from JR is inspired by love. On the track AKA croons to his significant other.
“You know coloured boys love harder/You can have inches/You can have followers/Photoshop thickness,” sings AKA. “But if you ain’t got a thick skin/You can’t handle my aura.”
On the second single “Energy” produced by Makwa Beats, AKA is feeling like Tony Montana. “I’m at the peak of my energies/I feel like Tony Montana,” he raps. “I never panic, I never freeze/ I keep it cool under pressure.”
“Monuments” features Yanga Chief and scratches from Grandmaster Ready D.
