Alderman John Finlay was quite open about his battle with illness in recent times, he fought valiantly until the end (John even summoned the strength in recent weeks to attend his beloved Twelfth of July celebrations), comforted and buoyed by his deep Christian faith.
Alderman John Finlay’s contribution to local government in this area is quite simply exceptional. He will leave a void that will be virtually impossible to fill. His work ethic and commitment to public service has set an incredibly high bar for his peers.
