Ali Raza Sadpara is a well-known mountaineer, whose tragic death is still a shock. He died on Friday in Skardu at the age of 56, weeks after being badly injured in a fall.
Ali’s family stated that, Sadpara was being examined at a local Skardu hospital when he died.
Karar Haideri stated that, the Pakistani Alpine Club secretary, Sadpara was on a routine training trek in his hamlet when he lost his balance and plummeted over the mountain.
Ali Raza Sadpara suffered serious injuries when he fell off a rock and into a ditch during a normal climbing drill on May 17.
Doctors at the Skardu hospital, where Sadpara was transferred for treatment, stated the mountaineer had damaged his spinal cord and many ribs, according to Sadpara’s relatives.
At 10 a.m. today, Ali Raza Sadpara’s funeral prayers were held at the Olding village graveyard.
This summer, Sadpara planned to attempt to climb the K2, the world’s second-highest peak.
Climbers, politicians, journalists, and public members have offered their condolences to Ali Raza’s family, calling his death a “great loss” for the sport.
They also praised the climber for his efforts to adventure tourism growth.
He had spent most part of his life in the service of Pakistan, according to mountaineer Sirbaz Khan, the only Pakistani to have ascended ten summits above 8,000 meters.
Ali Raza claims to have raised the Pakistani flag on more 8,000m peaks than any other mountaineer.
Khan also stated that the deceased mountaineer was renowned as “ustaadon ka ustaad (teacher of teachers)” because he had trained a generation of mountaineers.

Since 1986, Ali Raza has climbed 17 of Pakistan’s 8,000-meter peaks, including the Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum-II, and Gasherbrum-I, which are higher than 8,000 meters.
Sadpara was also believed to be the coach for Ali Sadpara, who died last year while attempting to climb the K2, Hasan Sadpara, and several other climbers.
He had set his sights on summiting K2 – Pakistan’s highest peak – this season because it was the last of the eight-thousanders he had yet to conquer. He attempted to summit K2 twice before being foiled by inclement weather on both occasions.
