The professional basketball player Malik Beasley was arrested at his residence in Plymouth, Minnesota, back in September 2020 for a weapon offense after the player pointed a gun at individuals in a car.
Malik was accused of pointing a gun at individuals in a car parked in front of his residence while warning the individuals to vacate the property. The athlete continued pointing the gun at the vehicle until it drove away.
When authorities arrived at the scene to investigate the incident, they smelled marijuana and obtained a search warrant for the property. Following the search, the officers discovered a large amount of marijuana and a stolen gun.
Beasley was pled guilty to the felony count of threats of violence. The athlete was also facing a charge of receiving or concealing stolen property that he was acquitted of.
Malik Beasley, a Minnesota Timberwolves guard, was sentenced to 120 days in jail in February 2021 due to his arrest in September of 2020. The athlete was said to be sentenced to prison after the NBA season.
The athlete’s attorney, Steven Haney, stated that Beasley would be part of a work-release program and could potentially serve a sentence through home confinement.

Although the sentence wasn’t as steep as it could have been for Malik, under a plea deal, prosecutors even agreed to drop the felony drug charges that they were facing Malik.
