Annastasia death was a tragic one, as she died through the help of her husband, Matthew Hester, who is known as a convicted solicitor
In 2016, Matthew Hester gained notoriety for plotting the murder of his wife, Annastasia “Annie” Hester
The 2016 murder case created quite a stir in Oregon, given the nature of the brutal murder. Annie was stabbed more than 60 times, but she survived until she called 911 for help.
The gruesome murder has caught the attention of NBC’s Dateline as the show explores a detailed investigation into the case in its latest episode.
Matthew Hester is still in prison for the murder solicitation charges of his ex-wife Annastasia Hester.
KOIN reported that the court documents initially showed Hester had presented a plea deal where he would prove himself guilty and receive less than 90 months in prison on each count.
He had been hit with the charges of soliciting the murder of his ex-wife and helping the killer clean up the evidence.
Hester was locked up at the Coffee Creek Correctional Institution after he was arrested in June 2019.
On the other hand, Annie’s stabber, Angela McCraw-Hester, Hester’s second wife, was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years of jail serving time.
She had pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder charge of the late Annie.
Matthew Hester, the ex-husband of the murdered Annastasia Hester, had put up the murder conspiracy after the former couple fought over child custody.
They were parents to a child named Alice Hester from their five years of marriage. The former Hester couple had divorced in 2012, and Matthew had married Angela later.
They had initially planned on hiring a hitman who is revealed to be Aaron McCraw, Angela’s ex-husband.
As the couple could not afford to pay for the hitman, Angela took the initiative to kill Annie after much planning.
The Gresham Police had arrested Angela after testing DNA evidence and digging up more into Angela and Matthew’s goal of the murder.
Matthew Hester’s 2021 hearing was the last one to hit the media, where he finally pled guilty to killing his former wife.
His trial status remains closed today, as he had agreed to receive the court’s order and is currently in prison serving his jail sentence. The solicitor’s arrest came late in 2019, and his final hearing took place in late August 2021.
Matthew and Angela, are both in jail, while the child for whom they took on such a dangerous path is out of the public limelight.
