Barry Trotz is known to be 59 years old, as he was born on July 15, 1962, he is a Canadian ice hockey coach who most recently served as the head coach of the National Hockey League’s New York Islanders (NHL).
Barry Trotz was also the head coach of the Nashville Predators and Washington Capitals in the past. He is just behind Scotty Bowman and Joel Quenneville in terms of NHL coaching victories. Fans and players commonly refer to him as “Trotzy” or the “Eggman.”

The Islanders missed the playoffs for the first time in four seasons under Trotz and general manager Lou Lamoriello.
The previous two seasons, they had advanced to the third round of the playoffs, including a Game 7 defeat to the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2021. Trotz was 152-102-34 with the Islanders, including 28-21 in the playoffs, but Lamoriello decided the team needed a fresh voice.

Trotz was a defenseman with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League (WHL), earning the WHL Championship in 1980 before he became a coach.
Trotz won his 500th game, a 4–1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on March 30, 2012, With a 4–1 victory over the New York Rangers on February 28, 2017, Trotz became the sixth NHL coach to achieve the 700-win mark.
On February 8, 2021, Trotz achieved his 850th career win as an NHL head coach after defeating the New York Rangers, passing Ken Hitchcock for third place on the all-time coach victories record. Trotz was fired from his position as the Islanders’ head coach on May 9, 2022.
