The Beyoncé curated compilation “The Lion: The Gift” has arrived.
Dubbed “a love letter to Africa,” the 27-track compilation features contributions from JAY-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, 070 Shake, Major Lazer, Childish Gambino, Blue Ivy, DJ Khaled, Sounwave and more.
African superstars such as Yemi Alade, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Mr. Eazi, Shatta Wale, Moonchild Sanelly and Burna Boy, also feature on the album.
“I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it,” Beyoncé told ABC. “I wanted it to be authentic to what is beautiful about the music in Africa.”
The Lion King reboot starring Beyoncé, James Earl Jones, Donald Glover, Seth Rogan, and John Oliver is out now in theaters worldwide.
