Bobby O’Jay, a DJ for Memphis radio station WDIA, died Tuesday morning at the age of 68.
Bev Johnson, a radio presenter, told WREG that O’Jay died on the job. The radio station was playing music when O’Jay turned on the phone line at 9 a.m.
The cause of Oger’s death is unknown at this time.
He spent his early years in the radio business in Montgomery, Alabama, before joining WDIA in Memphis in 1983. He was born in Batesville, Mississippi, in 1953.

In addition, Ogier has been nominated for the National Broadcasting Hall of Fame and will be inducted into the Tennessee Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2021. He was also honored by iHeartMedia Memphis in 2018.
