In the spirit of being thankful, several hip hop stars including Bobby Shmurda, T.I, Quavo and Kodak Black have taken to their neighborhoods at different times to give out turkeys to the less fortunate.
Bobby Shmurda, who is celebrating his first thanksgiving outside prison walls since 2014 was reportedly in Brooklyn Wednesday night (November 24) to help distribute 300 turkeys to people in desperate need of assistance at the Marlboro Houses.
After spending several hours there, chatting it up and taking pics with volunteers and those who came through for groceries, Bobby per TMZ then made his way to an outreach program in Ridgewood, Queens to talk with troubled teens. Bobby, joined by fellow GS9 rapper Rowdy Rebel, talked to the kids about their experiences in prison and just how important it is to stay out of trouble.
Elsewhere, T.I. hosted his 16th annual Turkey giveaway in his hometown of Atalanta. In association with his charity organization, Harris Community Works, the Troubleman, while Posted up outside Jackson Memorial Baptist Church donated over 1,000 turkeys to help feed struggling families.
He was aided by Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Councilwoman Andrea Boone, comedian DC Young Fly and several volunteers including members of his family.
Quavo did the same with his Quavo Cares foundation. Teaming up with Gopuff and foodbank charity Feeding America, the Migos rapper on Tuesday (November 23) gave out birds to residents of the Nawf (North Atalanta, Georgia).
“No Matter How Far U Go U Gotta Take It Back To Where It Begin. Happy Thanksgiving,” he captioned a clip of the charitable event.
Quavo made his way to cars in the drive-thru event to give them turkeys as they cheered on. He also took time-outs to take selfies with his fans.
Fat Joe prepared for thanksgiving by distributing turkeys to residents of New York on Wednesday (November 24).
The rapper is said to have given out over 1,000 thanksgiving groceries to disenfranchised families outside of a Up NYC store in Mott Haven.
According to his Instagram caption, Joe and his crew managed to make drop-offs at three different locations.
“This is just one location,” he wrote. “We did three locations today GOD IS GREAT salute to everyone who helped make this possible WE WILL NEVER STOP INSPIRING OUR PEOPLE.”
Lil Baby, who is reportedly dating Saweetie also found time to show love to his community this thanksgiving. The Bigger Picture rapper joined Tennesee Titans wide receiver Julio Jones on Tuesday (November 23) in Greenbriar Mall in Atlanta, Georgia, for his annual Keepin’ Up With the Jones’ Thanksgiving Carnival and Turkey giveaway.
Lil Baby took to the stage with his son Jason to perform a medley of his hit records, including “On Me,” “We Paid,” “Freestyle” and more.
Kodak Black, despite being stuck in rehab wasn’t left out of the philanthropic duties. The Pompano Beach rapper was able to have his team distribute more than 5,000 birds to struggling families across South Florida. You can read more on it here.
