Bramwell Tovey’s Family Heartbroken By His Death
Tovey had two marriages. Ben, a son from his previous marriage, which also ended in divorce, was the former guitarist for the metal band Rise To Remain, which is now no longer together. Two daughters were born to Tovey and Lana, his second wife. On July 12, 2022, one day after celebrating his 69th birthday, he passed away from sarcoma, leaving his family inconsolable.

While attending the Royal Academy, he trained with John Fletcher to become a tuba player. He conducted several BBC broadcasts as a student and participated in the Salzburg Festival’s London Symphony Orchestra.
He served as Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet’s Principal Conductor from 1984 to 1988. He also played the piano in Elite Syncopations during this time and led several British orchestras.
