Cardi B’s breakout video for her song Bodak Yellow becomes the fastest solo single by a female rapper to reach one billion views on YouTube.
Chart Data reports the song released in 2017 has now surpassed one billion views on the video streaming app, becoming the fastest solo song by a female rapper to achieve the feat.
The “Up” rapper celebrated the historic feat with her fans on Twitter and thanked them for their support.
“Fifteen thousand dollars, A billion views later!!!!! Wow that’s crazy! Super dope,” she wrote. “Thank you all for all the support throughout the years….. Back to the lab. Love & appreciate y’all.”
Bodak Yellow video, which she says she created with a $15,000 budget becomes her third clip to hit the milestone, following Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You” and “I Like It” with Bad Bunny and J Balvin.
Bodak Yellow can be found on Cardi B’s debut album “Invasion Of Privacy.” The song went 10x platinum and was certified Diamond by the RIAA in March.
Cardi B is currently working on her sophomore album.
