Authorities have released the names of the victim and suspect in a Montana homicide investigation.
On Monday September 19, 2022, the Park County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a body in a camper along East River Road south of Livingston in the Paradise Valley. A suspect was arrested and taken into custody later on Monday.
The following statement regarding the incident was released by the Park County Sheriff’s Office on Monday;
At approximately 0830 this morning the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a body that was found in a camper in the 1300 block of East River Road. The circumstances surrounding the reason have yet to be determined, but the Sheriff’s Office is investigating this as a homicide. As you can imagine these cases take time and the information involved is sensitive.
On Tuesday, the identity of the victim and suspect were released by authorities. The victim was identified as 32-year-old Casey Anderson. The suspect was identified as 20-year-old Kaden Lewis.
To avoid any confusion, the victim is not the same Casey Anderson that owns and operates Montana Grizzly Encounter.
The suspect is currently being held at the Park County Detention Center and has been charged with deliberate homicide. The bond was set at $1,000,000.
According to the Livingston Police Department, schools in the Livingston School District were put on lockdown Monday afternoon. However, it is unknown whether the lockdown is related to the homicide investigation.
Many details surrounding the incident are unknown at this time, and the investigation is still ongoing. This story will be updated when more information is available.
