Charlie is a 23-year-old Irish man last seen in Co Tyrone, presumably walking through the Washingbay area yesterday.
Whelehan stands 6 feet tall and has brown hair. He was dressed in a navy tracksuit, green jumper, and navy jacket and was walking.
According to an appeal posted on the Missing Persons Helpline Ireland Facebook page, his family and friends have not heard from him since Sunday.
His family has released CCTV footage of a man they believe is Charlie walking through a field between Derrylaughan and Maghery in the Washingbay area.
Charlie is the nephew of Belfast woman Avril McDowell, who told Belfast Live that on Wednesday, someone saw who they thought was Charlie in the area.
Therefore, it is not sure that the man captured in the CCTV cameras was Charlie Whelehan.
According to the Facebook post of his brother, Jack Whelehan, he might have left in his car with the roof rack and registered on 06CN 3886.
Furthermore, the post said, “He was last seen leaving his home in Kinnegad Sunday evening and hadn’t returned home; none of his friends or family have heard from him. This is very uncharacteristic of Charlie, and we are all worried sick.”
“If anyone has seen or heard from Charlie Whelehan, please contact him. We want him home safe. Charlie was last seen wearing a green Superdry sweatshirt, blue padded O’Neils jacket, and a navy tracksuit. He was driving a white Opel combo van 2001-2005, not sure of reg just yet,” Jack added.
Anyone with the information about Charlie can call the direct number of his brother Jack: 0838740022.
