Remy Ma Surrenders In Assault Case
Remy Ma turned herself in to police on Wednesday May 1st following reports she punched her “Love and Hip Hop New York” reality co-star Brittney Taylor at a concert last month. Law enforcement officers tell TMZ Remy has been booked for misdemeanor assault.
Taylor claims Remy punched her in the right eye while backstage during the Pretty Lou Benefit concert at Irving Plaza in New York on Tuesday, April 16. Taylor, 29 claims she suffered bruises and swelling that forced her to seek treatment at Mount Sinai Hospital.
“This arrest demonstrates how serious this matter is,” Taylor’s attorney, Sanford Rubenstein says. “It is real life and not reality TV entertainment. The victim, Brittney Taylor, has confidence in our system of justice and will continue to fully cooperate with the authorities.”
Remy’s attorney, Dawn Florio claims none of Taylor’s accusations are accurate. Florio claims to have video evidence that proves Remy was at home during the alleged time of Taylor’s attack.
“The complainant is a liar,” she said. “My client did not touch her. This is ‘clout chasing’ at the highest level.”
Florio also argued it was suspicious Taylor lawyered up with a civil attorney immediately after the attack.
Remy Ma, whose real name is Reminisce Smith was released Wednesday on $1,500 bail. She is due back in court May 24.
