Rosario Dawson, who plays Asoka in the new Disney+ series, stepped out at Saturday’s Star Wars Celebration to give fans a special treat: exclusive first-look footage from the upcoming Disney+ series.
Dawson made an appearance at the end of The Mandalorian panel, which also included creators Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, director and newly promoted executive producer Rick Famuyiwa, and stars Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian), Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon), Emily Swallow (The Armorer), Katee Sackhoff (Bo – Katan Kryze), Temuera Morrison (Boba Fett), Carl Weathers ( (Greef Karga).
As he sat down with the panelists, Dawson informed the delighted crowd, “I’m here for people like you.” “Bringing them to life and feeling the energy of everyone who wants to see them come to life has been a delight and a privilege.”
Dawson was able to do the panels because the live-action series was just wrapping up its third week of filming. She remarked, “Fortunately, we don’t shoot on Saturday.”
Dawson came with more surprises. First, she introduces a very special guest: the trusty robot Chopper, who will make his live-action debut in the series alongside Ahsoka. She then shared a sub-30-second clip of Dawson wearing a full Ahsoka costume, as well as a brief glimpse at Star Wars Rebel characters Hera and Sabine Wren. The video ends with Ahsoka looking at the art of the Star Wars Rebel cast, suggesting that other characters from the show will make their live-action debuts.
The final surprise came when the stage lights came back on and Natasha Liu Bordizzo officially debuted as the actress who would bring Sabine to life.
