Derick Haak Death – We are extremely devastated to announce the death of Derick Haak, 38, of Ontario, New York, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday fatal motorcycle crash in Wayne County.
Derick Haak died in a single-motorcycle crash near Arcadia Sunday night.
Derick Haak was operating a motorcycle on Route 88 near Chapel Street in Newark, when for unknown reasons, the bike crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 8 p.m. Sunday. The bike then entered a culvert. The bike then came into contact with a parked vehicle, a mailbox and tree.
Derick Haak was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries suffered in the crash.
A second motorcyclist – Mark Fisher, 39, of Sodus, also crashed a short distance from where Haak went down. He was transported to an area hospital with unknwn serious injuries.
