Veteran producer Dr. Dre is suing his former label Death Row Records , claiming the company owes him over $3 million in unpaid royalties.
The total breakdown is as follows; $676,444.44 for unpaid mechanical royalties, $1,200,386.57 in unpaid artist-producer royalties and $1,179,913 in digital sales he has yet to collect.
Legal documents also state that Death Row has yet to honor a bonus that would jump his revenue from Death Row album sales from 18 percent to 20.
Death Row Records headed by the now bankrupt Suge Knight was one of hip hop’s biggest labels back in the 90’s with artists such as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Tu Pac, The Outlawz, Mc Hammar, Nate Dogg, Left eye and more. As you’re aware the company fell off and right now I don’t think they have that kind of money.
