The Police are currently investigating a case of murder after a woman in Alra Park Extension Three, Nigel, was stabbed by her live-in partner on Friday.
The deceased was found lying in the street with stab wounds to her upper body and was certified dead on the scene by paramedics.
Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka said police’s preliminary investigation led to a house where a male known to be the deceased’s boyfriend was found in a room with blood-stained clothes.
Speaking after the arrest, Nigel SAPS station commander Lt-Col Senzangakhona Mohale said she is saddened by another senseless killing of a woman, especially on the backdrop of the latest crime statistics that indicate an upward trajectory with regard to offences relating to GBV. She condemned the incident in the strongest terms. The man is expected to appear in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court soon without delay.
