Not the type to pick sides in a beef but Eric Bellinger would get his ass flamed by Lanez in a battle of words. I’m just saying.

The Los Angeles based singer responds to Tory Lanez’s lack of respect for him with Yikes. On the song which uses the instrumental from the Toronto rapper/singer’s “Hate To Say” from his latest album, Memories Don’t Die – Bellinger calls out Lanez’s lack of originallity and how he copied the styles of Kendrick Lamar and Trey Songz.
“Yo’ only talent is mimicking anyone that’s talented/ Released a couple singles to your fans, you was red hot,” he raps. Surely had a change of heart the day after your album dropped/ Stole a vibe from Trey Songz, took a flow from K-Dot/ Kinda sound like Fetty Wap/ Dammit, Tory, when will it stop?
Lanez reportedly shaded Eric on a few tracks and interviews but it was his line on Hate To Say (same song Eric raps over on ‘Yikes’) that finally pulled a response out of Bellinger. On Hate To Say, Tory raps; “R&B niggas with Sisqo haircuts, wildin’ and stylin/ They dissin’, guess they just tryna go viral. I feel ’em/ This your favorite song, this gon’ be your favorite song/’ Cept when I say it, it’s really the people’s favorite song.”
In a Interview with DX, Eric said he’s not a fan of confrontation but this was something he just had to do.
“I’m not a fan of confrontation. I’m not sure what to expect I’m not trying to be in the streets and we brawling all over Instagram,” he said. “But as hard as Tekashi 6ix9ine is out here going out niggas, I was just like ‘fuck it!’ I gotta do this song. If we wanna say something, cool. And I’m gonna come right back on his ass!”
