It is with great sadness that we report the untimely death of our new police recruit Officer Ervin Karic. On August 2nd at approximately 2:45 pm, Officer Karic was found dead in his vehicle near the police academy in Concord. This tragedy did not occur on academy grounds or when class was in session. Our condolences to his family, friends, and co-workers and to anyone affected by this sorrow. The New Hampshire State Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating this incident. Officer Karic’s body has been taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Concord for an autopsy. The cause of death has not been confirmed by the Medical Examiner’s Office, however, we can report the death is not suspicious, and there is no threat to the public from this incident. Officer Karic was well liked by his peers at the Bow Police Department and had quickly become a part of our police department family. He will be missed.
