Fat Joe may just be the king of trash hip-hop takes. From calling DJ Khaled the Quincy Jones of hip hop to his derogatory comments towards Lil Mo and Vita, the Bronx rapper’s opinion is starting to hold less importance.
During his appearance on Rap City 2021, which aired before the 2021 BET Hip-Hop Awards on Oct. 5. Host Big Tigger played a name association game with Fat Joe, in which he asked Joey Crack to name the “2021 version” of some hip hop legends.
When the host asked who the 2021 version of Tupac Shakur is, Fat Joe responded hesitantly.
“I don’t know, it’s hard to be these guys. You be asking some crazy stuff,” he said before responding, “I would say DaBaby.”
DaBaby, who is arguably the most hated person in rap right now reposted the clip on his Instagram in agreement with Fat Joe.
“Agreed,” he wrote, adding “but they gone salt that down too Crack.” He also posted the clip on his Instagram story with the caption, “This gone make n-ggas slam they iPhone on the floor @fatjoe.”
Fat Joe’s response was surprising and Black twitter had a lot to say about it.
“Fat Joe needs to sit down. DaBaby hasn’t dropped anything close to Pac’s greatest hits,” wrote a Twitter user, while another added, “Righttt pac was a activist too, he had da world woke wit what he was talking abt, what has dababy done to be compared to him?”
