Davie County Sheriff J.D. Hartman said four deaths were ruled as a murder-suicide. It was determined that each victim died from gunshot wounds. Ashton Brown, 26 years old, Aschod Meeks-Ewing, 26 years old and their children Bella Meeks-Ewing, 4 years old, and Brixx Meeks-Ewing, 8 months old were found dead inside the house.
Investigators say Aschod died by suicide actually and It was also revealed that the family went to the Davie County Sheriff’s Office hours before, authorities said, Aschod shot his girlfriend and two daughters.
Barnett, speaking on behalf of Aschod’s mother, said he suffered from severe mental health challenges due to repeated concussions throughout his life, and was scared of law enforcement.
“One of the most disturbing things that I heard the mother sayswas that her son is scared of the police,” Barnett said. “She said, for him to get in the car and take his family there, and open up the door – which we have proof of – and ask for help says a lot.
Barnett said his mother suspects he has chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) – a brain disease caused by multiple head traumas – and that she has requested it be checked for when an autopsy is completed.
