Izaak Pollard Death: Derbyshire Constabulary Police Department has confirmed that the body found earlier today has been identified as that of 20-year-old Izaak Pollard who was missing from Ripley.
Officers searching for Izaak recovered the body from Butterley Reservoir earlier this afternoon (Tuesday 3 May).
Izaak’s family have been made aware and our thoughts are with them at this extremely sad time.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
The 20-year-old was reported missing from his home in Ripley on Friday, April 29. Several appeals were published by officers over the bank holiday weekend, with images of Izaak shared by thousands of people in a bid to try to find him.
Izaak’s stepmother Nina Summerton spoke to Derbyshire Live over the weekend and said his family had been searching non-stop in areas including Ripley, Belper, Cromford and Matlock. But sadly, officers have this afternoon had to inform the family of the tragic outcome.
