Jared Oban Death – We are extremely devastated to announce the deathof Jared Oban, who passed away recently
Jared Oban Tributes
My brother, Jared Oban, passed away this past Friday. My heart is filled with so many emotions. Our relationship was different. It definitely wasn’t easy. But he loved me in his own way, and I loved him the same. I’ll remember him for the joy, the laughter, and the light hearted energy he brought into this world. All he wanted to do with his life was make people laugh, and I think he lived up to that reputation. He also had one of the strongest work ethics when it came to his work that I know, and that is something that I will carry with me. Jared, I will miss you more then I even know or can even comprehend right now. I’m heartbroken, but know you’re finally at peace. – Alec Oban
Heartbroken to hear Jared Oban is no longer with us. 😥
We connected on YouTube over a decade ago. His goofy personality and outgoing charm won me over immediately. We participated in the #FiestaMovement together, I visited his childhood home for lunch on a cross-country roadtrip, we were dependable buddies at @playlistlive, and texted often about our love of movies.
He’s had some hard issues this past year… so while this tragic news wasn’t shocking, it is no less devastating. When we last talked a couple months ago, Jared spoke openly about his battle with alcoholism… and how his recovery was going. I wished him well, and offered what optimistic support I could.
Then he gushed about “The Batman.” He seriously watched that film about twice a week. 😊 I think it comforted him, and that’s comforting to me. We ended the 45 minute phone call by saying we loved each other. And we meant it.
He was such a chaotic and enjoyable presence to be around, and I’ll remember our adventures and laughs together fondly. He was a good friend, and I will miss him. Rest in peace, Jared. ❤️ 😢 – Jonathan Paula
I just found out that one of my long-time friends and fellow digital creators, Jared Oban, has passed away. He was such a fun, goofy character that was always looking for new ways to both weird you out and make you laugh. We both participated in Ford’s Fiesta Movement in 2013 and used to hang out at video conventions regularly, all the way back to 2010.
Jared was one of my original co-hosts for my video podcast Let Your Google Hang Out that lasted 2 years and 133 episodes. Just last week he messaged me telling me that his brother Alec worked at Disneyland and that he could get me passes next time I’m in Cali. Jared was always looking out for others, especially me.
He’s had a variety of battles over the years to contend with, but those days of worrying about him are over. I will miss your chats and random thoughts, Oban. May he Rest In Peace. – Scott Kinmartin
Today I learned my friend Jared Oban passed away after his journey with cancer. Not only did he have a sense of humor that could light up the whole room, but he was endlessly supportive of his friends. He was one of the very first people to cheer me on with Doug The Pug when everyone else thought we were crazy and always sent me messages to tell me he was proud of us. I wish I could tell him one more time how grateful I was to know him.
I will miss him and the laughs he gave 💗- Leslie Moiser
