Jason Griff and Alaska have teamed up for a new collaborative album titled “Human Zoo.” The highly-anticipated collaborative effort is set to arrive September 3 via Insubordinate Records.
To get some momentum going Griff and Alaska will be sharing a new exclusive single every week for the next three weeks.
They kick off the new weekly campaign with “Challah Back,” a hard hitting summer anthem loaded with a mix of trunk-rattling bass and clever wordplay.
The duo will follow this up with single drops on July 16th and 23rd before their album drops in September. These July single releases are standalone songs and are not on the Human Zoo album.
Alaska is in the midst of a rap career renaissance after a prolific run in the 2000s as part of Hanger 18, Atoms Fam and Def Jux. He is part of the wildly popular indie rap podcast Call Out Culture (with Zilla Rocca and Curly Castro), has released music as part of Cargo Cults (with Zilla Rocca), and has been featured on countless projects from other artists over the past few years. He and Jason Griff connected when collaborating on “Ode To Camp Lo” from Griff/Scorcese Midnight Express and “Adapt” from Griff’s Fireside Chats compilation.
They both felt an immediate chemistry in their art and quickly began collaborating on what has become Human Zoo. Griff is best known from his work with Alex Ludovico and the late Scorcese as owners of Insubordinate Records. He has also collaborated with artists such as Quelle Chris, Vic Spencer, Juga-Naut, billy woods and more.
