Jim Bowie Death – We are extremely saddened and devastated to announce the death of Jim Bowie, who passed away earlier today, July 27, 2022 at Boyup Brook Hospital.
His child, James Bowie wrote on Facebook:
It is with great sadness that I advise my father – Dr Jim Bowie – passed away peacefully earlier this morning at Boyup Brook Hospital.
Dad was a much loved husband, father and grandfather.
As many people from Manjimup (and indeed across the world in the various places that he worked) would know, he was also a greatly loved and much admired doctor.
To the people of Manjimup I know he truly missed being your doctor and it gave him enormous pleasure serving your community.
On behalf of the family we would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to the doctors and wonderful hospital staff at both Boyup and Manjimup that cared for Dad in his final months.
There are too many people to thank specifically – but you all vindicated his belief that country care is always the best tonic.
As many would know Dr Bowie was a proud Scot.
