Ortiz’s last solo album “That’s Hip Hop” was released way back in 2016. With slaughterhouse no longer in existence, the Brooklyn MC is now fully focused on his solo career and is currently prepping the release of his new album “Monday,” which is expected to arrive August 30.
The Yaowa kicks off the campaign for the upcoming project with a new emotional single titled “Learn You.” On the melodic new single, which features Big K.R.I.T. on the hook, Joell apologizes to his family for his shortcomings.
Back in 2018 Ortiz dropped “Mona Lisa,” a collaborative effort with Apollo Brown.
“Working with K.R.I.T. was super dope! We basically had long conversations over the phone about life and human things for about a week or so before we even talked about music,” Joell said. “Just Vibing. “Learn You” was basically one of those convos turned audio.”
