John Hartman Obituary News – Cause of Death: Founding member of The Doobie Brothers, John Hartman dies at 72.
The original drummer for The Doobie Brothers passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022. He was 72.
The Doobie Brothers fused rock, soul and everything in between and have been staples on the stereo since the 70s, with hits like “Long Train Runnin’”, “Listen To The Music” and “What A Fool Believes.”
“Today we are thinking of John Hartman, or Little John to us. John was a wild spirit, great drummer, and showman during his time in the Doobies. He was also a close friend for many years and an intricate part of the band personality! We send our condolences to all his loved ones at this difficult time. Rest In Peace John,” the band announced via a social media post.
Hartman served as the band’s drummer bowed out of the out, in 1979, but reunited with the brothers for a period, at the end of the 80s.
Among the many accolades were Grammy Awards and inductions into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, as well as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
