Kami Rita Sherpa ascended the peak for the 26th time on May 7, 2022, beating his record established on May 7, 2002.
Sherpa became the third person to reach the top of Mount Everest 21 times in 2017, joining Apa Sherpa and Phurba Tashi Sherpa.
