Kanye West Officially Changes Name To “Ye”

The rapper filed legal docs with the Los Angeles legal system in August to change his name to Ye.

The artist formerly known as Kanye Omari West.

A Los Angeles judge Monday approved a petition by the rap mogul to officially change his name to just “Ye” with no middle or last name.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michelle Williams Court gave her nod to the request by Kanye West, who filed his petition Aug. 24 and stated he was making the change for “personal reasons.

Back in 2018 the 44-year old said in an interview with radio host Big Boy that he believes “ye” is “the most commonly used word in the Bible, and said in the Bible it means ‘you.’”

Despite rumors of a divorce, Kim Kardashian has no intentions of Eliminating the “West” from her name. Kim says she supports her soon to be ex-husband’s decision to change his name, but she won’t be following in his footsteps because she feels it’s important for her to maintain the same last name as her four children.
