The Thane Police detained Ketaki Chitale, who is known as a Marathi actor on Saturday, for allegedly publishing a ‘derogatory’ tweet on social media sites regarding NCP president Sharad Pawar.
Within 24 hrs, Ketaki Chitale had the second FIR filed against her, for making derogatory remarks about the NCP supremo.
Kataki is said to be the 29 year old pharmacy student from Nashik was detained on Friday for reportedly tweeting a derogatory comment about Sharad Pawar.
The message in Marathi that Chitale posted on Friday did not specify who she was talking about. It just gave Pawar’s surname and his age of 80. The NCP boss is 81 years old.
Ketaki Chitale posted about Sharad Pawar, including statements like “hell is waiting” and “you despise Brahmins,” which were purportedly directed at Pawar. His party shares power in Maharashtra with the Shiv Sena and Congress.
Chitale made disparaging remarks about Pawar’s sickness, looks, and voice in her Friday post. Likewise, Chitale said that the senior politician was involved in bribery.
The Thane Police Crime Branch apprehended Chitale in Navi Mumbai
The Workers from the NCP’s women’s wing reportedly threw black ink and eggs at Chitale outside Kalamboli police station in Navi Mumbai on Saturday evening.
A complaint filed by an NCP leader shows that, a case was filed in Dhule against Chitale and Nitin Bhave, the claimed author of the inflammatory tweet shared by the actress, under comparable provisions of the IPC, including section 34 (common intention).

He inquired of a reporter, “What exactly has she done? What was her beef (with him)?” The seasoned leader also stated that he would not comment until he learned what the actress had done.
Her tweet, NCP leader and housing minister Jitendra Avhad informed reporters, “He (Pawar) has survived three cancer procedures.” He is currently 83 years old.”
Adding onto that, he said, “Commenting on his disease, on the state of his physique… such remarks are inappropriate coming from a woman, a sister. “What she wrote is perilous.”
Ketaki Chitale was charged under several sections of the Indian Penal Code. she is used under sections 500 (defamation), 501 (printing or engraving defamatory content), and 153A (promoting animosity between various groups based on religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and committing actions harmful to the preservation of peace).
The Kalwa police filed the FIR after receiving a complaint from Swapnil Netke, a Thane-based NCP leader.”
A police officer revealed that the FIR against Chitale was recorded on the basis of the complaint by Swapnil Netke.
