Kim Kardashian West has no intentions of Eliminating the “West” from her name, despite Kanye filing legal documents to officially change his name to Ye.
TMZ reports Kim is in support of her soon to be ex-husband’s decision to go by “Ye,” but she won’t be following in his footsteps because she feels it’s important for her to maintain the same last name as her four children North, Psalm, Chicago and Saint.
She also believes people will still identify him as Kanye West because that’s the name he’s been recognized by for most of his life.
Kanye West filed legal docs with the Los Angeles legal system earlier this week looking for approval to change his name to just “Ye.”

Back in 2018 the Chicago-born rapper played with the idea of a possible name change when he tweeted, “the being formerly known as Kanye West. I am Ye.”
In a previous interview with Big Boy he also spoke about what the name “Ye” means to him.
Kim and Kanye are on the verge of terminating their 7-years marriage, nevertheless she continues to support him on his endeavors. Kim and the kids attended Kanye’s listening parties in Atlanta for his upcoming “DONDA” album, and she’s also expected to be present at his third listening party taken place in Chicago’s Soldier Field on Thursday (Aug. 26).
