Borna Coric paid tribute to his ex-coach Kristijan Schneider, who died at the age of 41. In an Instagram post, the Croat stated he was “blessed” to have had Schneider in his life. Cori wrote the caption in his IG post which reads that “Rest in peace, my coach and my friend. I was blessed to have you in my life.”
Kristijan Schneider was the coach of several tennis stars, such as Ana Konjuh and Borna Coric, recently participated in triumphing the junior Australian Open Petra Marcinko, and also worked with Bernard Pero, Olga Danilovic…Sadly, the life of Kiki ended prematurely, at the age of 41. Kiki, thank you for everything you gave to tennis and was what you are. We express our deepest condolences to the family.” He also coached Ana Konjuh. World No. 66 paid tribute to Schneider on Instagram, uploading a photo of the 2 of them hugging. She captioned her post, “I am lost for words. Until we meet again, save me a hug up there. Rest in peace Kiki.”
Borna Coric, who reached World No. 12 in the year 2018, suffered a few minutes in the years that followed. He missed a chunk of the 2021 season after undergoing shoulder surgery. The 25-year-old came back to the ATP tour at the Indian Wells Master this season. But he suffered a 1st round exit at the hands of Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the spite of winning the first set. He conquered his first match of the season against Fernando Verdasco in the opening round of the Miami Masters. RIP Kristijan Schneider!
