The sudden terrible news of Lauren Bernett’s death came a day after she was named the player of the week by the Colonial Athletic Association. The softball player died at the age of 20. She was a sophomore in her college.
The news of her death was made public by JMU. JMU’s athletic director Jeff Bourne and president Jonathan Alger stated, “a high achieving member of our softball unit died, hearts are aching due to her death, she was a great ambassador of our athletics program and JMU.”
As at the moment, there is no true information concerning her cause of death in the statement. Rumor has it that she might have committed suicide but this information is definitely not reliable.
