A former Arkansas state senator was discovered dead outside her house on 4th June 2019, at the age of 57 years old. Dateline telecasted the episode about her demise on Friday, 8th of April 2022.
Rebecca Lyn O’Donnell has been detected as a suspect, as she’s one of her bestfriends. O’Donnell had reportedly been stealing from Collins, and the children of Collins believe that a confrontation may have direct to the death of their mother. Collins was recently divorced, and her former husband Judge Phil Smith owned numerous gold and silver coins, which Collins allegedly could not discover in her house. These same coins were late found to have been sold by O’Donnell in Memphis and Little Rock, about half a year prior to the murder, for $15,000. But it was ultimately the removal of security cameras from her home of Collin that broke the case. She forgot one of the cameras and could not completely delete the footage from the others, which view her standing over the body of Collin with a knife and covered in blood.
O’Donnell has been charged with capital murder, abuse of a cadaver (dead body), and tampering with proof, although she also tried to solicit murders for hire while in jail awaiting trial: those of the former husband of Collin, Judge Phil Smith, prosecutor Henry Boyce, and Judge Harold Erwin. All of these landed her with additional charges of soliciting killing.
