Maya Rudolph stars in the new comedic series ‘Loot,’ which will release on Apple TV+ soon. The ten-episode comedy is created by the Emmy Award-winning creators of ’30 Rock,’ Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard.
‘Loot,’ the second collaboration between Apple TV+ and Yang, follows the BAFTA and NAACP Image Award-nominated anthology series ‘Little America.’ It tells the narrative of Molly Novak (Maya Rudolph), an affluent woman who is enjoying her best life and has everything she desires. However, when her 20-year-old spouse betrays her, she openly spirals. Here’s what we know about the show so far.
“Molly Novak (Rudolph) is a billionaire with a fantasy existence that includes private jets, a huge mansion, and a gigayacht — anything her heart desires,” according to the official synopsis. When her 20-year-husband betrays her, she erupts in public, resulting in tabloid fodder. Molly is at her lowest point when she discovers, to to her surprise, that she has a charity foundation run by the tough-as-nails Sofia Salinas (Rodriguez), who begs her to quit causing trouble. Molly embarks on a self-discovery trip with the help of her dedicated aide Nicholas (Kim Booster) and Sofia and her crew, which includes mild-mannered accountant Arthur (Faxon) and her lively, pop-culture-loving cousin Howard (Funches). Giving back to others may be exactly what she requires to restore her identity.”
