Martin Roberts is oneo as daytime telly star, who was once rumourned to have suffered fromr cancer, but this time around, he nearly died of chest pain.
Martin Roberts updated his Homes Under the Hammer future, on today’s This Morning. Last month, the 58-year-old was rushed to the hospital after experiencing breathing problems.
On Wednesday, the Warrington presenter appeared on ITV’s flagship daytime show to talk about his recent health scare.
Martin Roberts Health Status Update
Martin Roberts is rumourned to be suffering from cancer, which turns out to be his chest pain, which could damage his vital organs. However, the actor is risk-free now.
Martin thought he was suffering from long-Covid symptoms, but doctors discovered he had “a massive amount of fluid” surrounding his heart.
“The confusing thing about this, and it’s a bit of a red herring,” he explained, “is that it gets you are thinking about breathing, so you don’t think it’s something to do with your heart.”
The sack around Roberts’s heart filled with fluid is called pericardial effusion, which causes a tapenade.
It means the sack squeezes the heart it sits around, preventing the heart from expanding and pumping, causing all of your organs to fail.
The actor further explained his condition by saying, “By the time they got to me, my kidneys were at 30%, my liver was at 30%, my lungs weren’t getting enough oxygen, and I could have had a heart stroke at any time… The heart would have suffocated on its own.”
Roberts shared a video on social media from his hospital room at the time, saying that if the liquid had not been removed, he could have had hours to live.
Despite his health scare, Roberts stated that he will resume filming Homes Under the Hammer in a few weeks and hopes to continue the series.
“I need to reach 20 years.” “Hopefully, I’ll get some nicer properties, and they’ll cherry-pick the good ones instead of the terrible ones,” he said.
Martin is a property expert, investor, entrepreneur, and author from the United Kingdom. He is married to Kristy Roberts and has two children together.
