Melvin George Townsend III is the victim recognized for the assault of Mike Tyson in a plane.
Melvin and Mike Tyson aboard a JetBlue flight at San Francisco International Airport, and he has a lengthy criminal record.
Mike Tyson was also seen repeatedly striking a fellow passenger on a flight from San Francisco to Florida on Wednesday night, leaving the victim with a bruised forehead.
According to the reports, Mike Tyson defeated Melvin George Townsend III of Punta Gorda, Florida.
Melvin George Townsend III is not innocent too, as he launched an attack first at Tyson, by throwing a bottle at him before being pummelling in his seat.
Townsend has served 20- and 15-month prison sentences for a range of charges. In 2018, the 36-year-old trespassed and hitched his pickup truck to a trailer.
He was also charged with breaking and entering, possessing cocaine, and tracing stolen property.
San Francisco police grabbed two passengers from the flight, but neither was identified. They did, however, provide San Mateo County cops with a video of the assault.
According to CCTV from Wednesday’s incident, Tyson hits Townsend before the JetBlue flight from San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale takes off, leaving the Florida guy with a bloodied forehead
Following the initial investigation, a video that may have captured the incident surfaced, and the SFPD was made aware of it. The video was handed over to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, which is in charge of the investigation.
Melvin Townsend III, as previously stated, has a criminal record, he is of Punta Gorda, Florida, is serving 20- and 15-month sentences for a variety of crimes, including possession of Oxycodone, burglary, grand theft, fraud, and trafficking in stolen property, according to court documents.
He was sentenced to prison twice, the first for 20 months and the second for 15 months. Townsend seems to have tormented Tyson after they boarded the flight from San Francisco to Miami on Wednesday, April 2022.
