If you expected M.I.’s “Yung Denzl” album to be a foregone formality by now, you wont be alone. The album has been some 3 years in the making and was scheduled to be out in 2016 but for reasons avowed to the man alone, the LP failed to see the light of day.
In reaction to the delay, fans began to wonder if the album was going the way of most hyped Hip-Hop projects that ends up being shelved only to surface 5-6 years later when nobody-longer gives a damn.
In a private message early last year, M.I. revealed that the album was coming soon…
“YD cometh soon,” he said. “I have been so busy but am making time now.”
Hip-Hop lovers and M.I. Abaga fans can now rest easy because the long awaited album is now done. Announced by the man himself — M.I. broke the good news to the world via his social media feed late Saturday (August 19).
“I just finished my album” he tweeted.
I just finished my album… 🙂— Yung denzL (@MI_Abaga) August 18, 2017
Fans as expected couldn’t hold their excitement in.
Finally a rap album, we’ve missed that from a Nigerian. your last album is still a project undefeated. School these baby rappers once more.— Raver (@raemurd) August 19, 2017
Someone needs to break into MI’s studio & give us a leak asap— Georgesketch (@Georgesketch) August 18, 2017
M.I. is still keeping the project top secret but according to my calculations, the LP is likely to feature Ghana’s E.L and maybe Cassper Nyovest? If the tweet below is anything to go by.
And I’m not on it ? https://t.co/8iOCqyXWC6— Thuto the album out (@CassperNyovest) August 18, 2017

Hopefully we won’t have to wait another year for the album to arrive.
time to wait another 8months before album release 😣😭— lendrick kamar 🇳🇬 (@thegoodkhiid) August 18, 2017
Despite not having an album out, M.I. has managed to keep himself busy with features most noticeably with the likes of Phyno, D-Black and Milli.
“Yung Denzl” will be M.I.’s first full project since Illegal Music 3 and first album since 2014’s “The Chairman” album.
