I just learned that Michael Bloodgood passed away today. His band Bloodgood was one of the top bands I listened to growing up during my spiritual walk in my youth. Such a great guy and he will be majorly missed. Way too soon but he accomplished so much. It was an honor to have met him back in 2017. This one hurt. — feeling heartbroken. -Sam Rhodes
Dateline: July 29, 2022 – The HMEA Records Christian Music Preservation Society joins the extended Bloodgood family in their time of greiving as it was announced earlier today that after what seemed to be a promising period of recovery from a hemorrhagic stroke, Michael Bloodgood, former Senior Pastor at Calvary Chapel Redmond since 1998 and founding member of the Christian metal band BLOODGOOD, has gone home to be with our Heavenly Father.
I met Michael Bloodgood in the early 1990’s somewhere in Redmond, WA during one of my Twisted Brother concert tours. My former Harpazo band mate, Wade H Newer, was a close personal of Michael’s and set up a photo opportunity where we exchanged T-shirts.

It’s with a heavy heart we share that we lost our beloved, Michael Bloodgood on July 29, 2022 at 8:15am Central. After a gallant fight that began with a severe hemorrhagic stroke in February 2022 he’s gone home to be with our Heavenly Father.
We’ll cherish Michael’s generous spirit, off-beat sense of humor, and musical soul. His devotion to the Lord and sharing of the Gospel through his ministry as a pastor and musician touched countless lives. Our hearts go out to his family and friends during this unimaginable time. He is survived by his cherished wife of 46 years, Marilyn, three sons, and two grandchildren.
