Monica Wilson Death – We are extremely saddened to announce the death of Monica Wilson, who passed away after she was killed in a tragic car accident. Two of her boys were pulled from the car but are expected to survive. Please keep this family in your prayers.
Monica Wilson was operating a vehicle on Route 8 near Exit 3 in Bridgeport, when the vehicle was struck head-on by another vehicle driving in the wrong direction.
According to reports, after the initial crash, a chain reaction collision occurred between the car travelling the wrong way and two other southbound vehicles, state police said. A passenger in one of the other southbound vehicles, Ananias Castillo-Icabalzeta, 46, of Bridgeport, was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.
Two children in the car Wilson was driving also were injured, as were the drivers of the three other cars involved in the collisions, state police said. The injuries sustained by the wrong-way driver are life-threatening and he was in critical condition
