Nassau Traffic management made a tweet about the two lanes that has been blocked, due to it, it the cause of the auto accident on the Southern State Parkway Today.
The Southern State Parkway today has caused massive delays, due to auto accident, and the Nassau Traffic Management has tweeted that two lanes are blocked at exit 40 Jericho Turnpike.
Those drivers following those routes were notified to follow the alternative route cause of possible delay too.
Nassau Traffic Management has tweeted that two lanes were blocked cause of an Auto Accident at I-495 WB at exit 40, at 4:36 p.m. on May 9, 2022.
The traffic management didn’t specify how many vehicles were involved in that accident and the injuries caused by accident, the drivers using those routes were requested to use the alternative way. And delays were expected in that area.
Nassau Traffic Management has also warned the citizens regarding the possible delays of the blocked road clearance through the same tweet.
Pix11 Morning News stated that, all of the westbound Southern State lanes were closed between Exit 13 at Central Avenue and the Belt Parkway, resulting in standstill traffic nearly to Franklin Avenue.
Hence the drivers in Nassau along with Suffolk counties heading west toward New York City were requested to use the Northern State Parkway or the Long Island Expressway as alternative routes.
Southern State Parkway Jericho Turnpike Two Lanes Blocked
The cause of the accident on the Southern Parkway I-495 WB at exit 40, Jericho Turnpike, two lanes are blocked; thus the ones using the lane were notified to use the alternative routes.
At 3:42 p.m., May 9, 2022, Nassau Traffic Management tweeted about the daily road closure on West Shore Road at the Bayville Bridge (Bayville), where one lane will be blocked between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Another one on Austin Boulevard between Audubon Boulevard and Sagamore Road (Barnum Island), one SB lane will be blocked between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pix11 Morning News writes that the 54-year-old Shirley resident car driver Edward Thornlow was driving at the lane of Express Drive South. At around 8:40 p.m., his car collided with another car driven southbound on Horseblock Road by Christopher Samson.
Edward was taken to a hospital, and he was pronounced dead by the officials; meanwhile, Samson was also taken immediately to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Both of the cars were confiscated.
