Natalee Holloway missing case still remains a mystery to the people and police officers.
Natalee Holloway went missing on May 30, 2005, and it has been seventeen years since Natalee Holloway disappeared at the end of a high school graduation trip to Aruba in the Caribbean.
Police are still investigating the case and van der Sloot, a Dutch Native is the primary suspect in the case.
Natalee Ann Holloway was reportedly 18-year-old American woman when she went missing on May 30, 2005, at the end of a high school graduation trip to Aruba in the Caribbean.
On January 12, 2012, Judge King signed the ruling pronouncing Natalee Holloway dead over seven years later.
Though the investigation on the case is still going on John Ludwick, one of van der Sloot’s closest pals, admitted he smashed Natalee’s bones and transported them to cremation for money.
He stated that, van der Sloot promised him $1,500, and he paid a worker $200 in cash to cremate what he claimed was his pet.
Her disappearance garnered international headlines. Holloway grew up in Mountain Brook, Alabama, and graduated from Mountain Brook High School just days before the trip on May 24, 2005.
In the United States, her disappearance caused a media frenzy. Her classmates last saw her on Monday at 1:30 a.m.
And while the main suspect, Joran van der Sloot, was finally apprehended, it was only after he try to murder another young lady.
Holloway is later seen leaving in a vehicle with der Sloot and his two pals, Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, after the pub shuts at 1 a.m. After friends were unable to locate Holloway at their hotel, mayhem ensued.
The interrogation leads them from the Holiday Inn to Carlos ‘n Charlie’s and finally to the van der Sloot residence in Noord. However, Sloot confesses he drove to a lighthouse with Holloway and the Kalpoe brothers before dumping her off at the Holiday Inn.
He pointed out the security guard who supposedly assisted her inside, but he cannot locate the guard. A local search team was formed to look for her, but no trace of her could be found.
The initial suspects in the case were caught, former security guards of a hotel that was closed for construction, but they were freed eight days later.
Sloot and his companion Kalpoe were detained numerous times after that, along with the release.
Sloot is presently imprisoned in Peru’s Challapalca Prison for 28 years for the murder of Stephany Flores Ramrez in Lima, Peru, in 2010. Though he is the case’s primary suspect, Dutchman Joran van der Sloot, has never been charged with Natalee’s murder or disappearance.
Natalee Holloway’s body was presumed to be found after a former roommate of Joran van der Sloot’s closest friend stated that she was buried in a park near her hotel on the island.
However, the DNA never matched and her body is still missing. According to that friend, Natalee strangled to death on her own vomit shortly after being given a drink contaminated with GHB.
And van der Sloot disposed of the corpse with the aid of his father Paulus.
New evidence is found related to the case by Greta Van Susteren, a US lawyer, and television host. She made a tweet stating that she had discovered “a KEY piece of information” about the fate of the American girl.
Van Susteren did not specify what proof she discovered, only that it was “breathtaking.” She claimed she’ll wait for the results of a lab test before releasing what she learned from Natalee’s mother, Beth.
“I told the mother in 2005 that I would remain with it until she found out what had occurred, and I figured it would take three days, not seventeen years. However, I have maintained my word “Van Susteren used Twitter.”
“For the past year, I’ve been working night and day with Natalee Holloway’s mother, and what we’ve discovered is incredible.”
Because of the potential participation of the Dutch Joran van der Sloot, the Natalee Holloway case gained a lot of attention in the Netherlands. He last saw her with him.
Van der Sloot alleged he sold Holloway to a human trafficker in an interview with Van Susteren on Fox News in 2008. But he later changed his mind. The individual has confessed to murdering Holloway several times in recent years but has always denied it subsequently.
Van der Sloot is presently serving a five-year sentence in Peru for the murder of Stephany Flores on May 30, 2010, five years after Holloway vanished.
Natalee Holloway was 18 years old when she mysteriously disappeared on May 30, 2005. Her family is still searching for justice as no one has ever been prosecuted for Natalee’s death.
Natalee had just one sibling at the time of her disappearance: a younger brother called Matt, who was a high school sophomore at the time. Matt has said that talking about his sister and the circumstances surrounding her abduction might be difficult at times.
Beth and Dave Holloway have been fighting for years to find out what happened to their daughter, and “20/20” chronicled her traumatic trip to the island last summer.
