“King / know the pedigree beloved / I wish we all knew it before that jail cell cometh,” he raps over looping soulful jazz sounds. “I wish we all knew it before we went raw / filled up a Queen stomach / with future generations who’ll plummett.”
Borrowing a page from Jay Z’s 4:44, Neak continues, “What we could be if we knew / the difference between wealth & riches / and how we cursing our daughters for calling queen bitches.”
“Black Male Plight,” according to the Chicago rapper is meant to highlight the racial divide in America. “I felt a need to discuss the racial tension and divisive rhetoric running wild in U.S. culture today, and speak candidly about the dysfunctional behavior regarding race relations,” Neak says via email.
