President extends condolences to late Comrade Mushelenga family

PRESIDENT Hage Geingob has extended his condolences to the children and family of the late freedom fighter, Comrade (Cde) Nkrumah Mushelenga, who passed on Wednesday morning.
“On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Namibia, I extend our sincere and heartfelt condolences to the children and the entire bereaved family of Cde Nkrumah Mushelenga,” Geingob said.
He described Mushelenga as someone who was committed to fighting for the freedom of the Namibian people and for the plight of the vulnerable. This commitment, Geingob said, helped with the achievement of independence in 1990 and also assisted with the upliftment of the most vulnerable people, such as refugees.
“As a refugee and freedom fighter, he had a particular understanding of their special needs and their plight and he helped, as Commissioner for Refugees, the Namibian Government greatly in strengthening its policies towards refugees,” the president said.
He added that Mushelenga’s legacy should serve as inspiration as we work towards making the country a better place for all.
“Although we are deeply saddened and devastated by the departure of Cde Nkrumah Mushelenga from this earth, we should be consoled by the Illustrious legacy of dedication and steadfastness he left behind,” Geingob said.
