As the third Alaafin, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi was also known as Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III. He was born in Lamidi Olayiwola Atanda Adeyemi on October 15, 1938. In the year 1945, he was named Alaafin. His father’s name was Oba Adeniran Adeyemi II, and his mother’s name was Ibironke. He died on April 22, 2022, at the age of 83. He served as the Alaafin of Oyo State for 52 years, until his death.
Oba Lamidi Adeyemi ruled his empire for 52 years, He was one of the empire’s best rulers, and as the Alaafin, he has served the people of his empire for the past 52 years. He was known to be pro-development, thus he worked on numerous partnerships with many established countries so that he could bring technical advancement to his country and provide a better living for the people of his empire.
He died at the age of 83 years old, as a result of a brief illness. RIP Oba!
