This incident happened at Kallang Riverside Park on Monday, 4th of April 2022 as a man who has refused to make his full name known is very excited to watch a pack of about 30 otters which is a much larger group than what he usually watch in the park. He followed the pack to take videos while keeping a 2m distance, but right about 30 seconds later, an adult otter bound at the 52-year-old and bit him directly on the calf.
Mr Ang did not think it was a severe enough wound to call an ambulance. The engineer stated he spots otters on his jogs about once a week, but usually only in groups of 5 or 6. He washed the injury at a closeby toilet and then took a bus to get to Raffles Hospital which is in Bugis, where he got an X-ray and a tetanus shot. The doctor also gave him 5 days of medical leave, whilst he stated he feels fine.
