Dutton married Kirilly (née Brumby) in a passionate Italian affair in July 2003, following a “slow-burning romance,” as she described it to the Courier-Mail.
His wife was working 14-hour days as the personal assistant of Sarina Russo, the founder of the Sarina Russo Group, Australia’s largest private-sector employment provider, at the time they met and had “little time for a personal life.” Kirilly was eventually won over by the MP’s “feeling of fun and curiosity.”
She began her career as a part-time babysitter before going on to establish and manage profitable childcare businesses.
She owns and operates the Camelia Avenue Childcare Centre in Everton Hills, as well as the Bald Hills Childcare Centre in Brisbane’s northwest, according to the Daily Mail.

The five-person family lives in a $2.3 million house. Dutton, the eldest of five children, was born in Boondall, a northern Brisbane suburb, with one brother and three sisters and thus has an Australian nationality whereas his ethnicity is unknown.
His mother, Ailsa Leitch, worked as a daycare worker, while his father, Bruce Dutton, was a builder.
