Phil Taormina Death – We are extremely devastated to announce the death of Phil Taormina, a 27-year veteran of the East Rutherford Police Department who passed away recently, after suffering from a severe liver cancer.

It is with deep regret and sadness the East Rutherford Fire Department shares the passing of Phillip Taormina, Deputy Police Chief and exempt member of Truck Company 1. Phil was a dedicated member of Truck Company 1 for 15 years, serving along side his father and brothers, and attaining the rank of Lieutenant and Secretary.
We will always remember Deputy Chief Taormina for his “family first” lifestyle, his dedication to his brothers and sisters in law enforcement, commitment to public safety, and his positive attitude.
