The death news of Marcus Leatherdale has hit his world so hard, as he was a well-known photographer.
Many are seen paying tribute to him, after his close source reveal his death, but no one knows the cause of his death.
Leatherdale career life started in 1980s in New York City. He started as Robert Mapplethorpe’s office manager. After that, he served as Sam Wagstaff’s assistant curator.
Leatherdale is featured on Wikipedia, which shows his work was featured in Interview, Details, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, and Elle Decor. He quickly became a favorite of the then-thriving club scene and the stylish media. He was later included in art magazines such as Artforum, Art News, and Art in America.
He photographed the New York lifestyle and the amazing characters of Danceteria and Club 57, where he first showed his work in 1980.
Marcus remained under Mapplethorpe’s shadow for some time, his talent was later discovered by Christian Michelides, who provided him an opportunity to shine.
